Alliaria petiolata (M. Bieb.) Cavara & Grande (syn. A. officinalis Andrz. ex DC.), commonly known as garlic mustard, is a herbaceous species widespread in temperate forest ecosystems. It is valued for its culinary and medicinal applications as well as for its characteristic garlic-like aroma. It also serves as an important model species in studies on plant invasions and allelopathic interactions within forest communities.
