STRESZCZENIE
Prostaglandyna F i jej syntetyczne analogi ze względu na właściwości luteolityczne znajdują zastosowanie w rozrodzie zwierząt, w tym koni. Dawka i rodzaj PGF wpływają na efekt terapeutyczny oraz intensywność efektów niepożądanych. Rekomendowane dawki przy podaniu domięśniowym to 5 mg na klacz w przypadku dinoprostu oraz 250–500 μg na klacz dla kloprostenolu. Trwają badania nad skutecznością alternatywnych dróg podania hormonu, np. w punkt akupunkturowy Bai Hui, co umożliwiłoby jednocześnie zmniejszenie dawki prostaglandyny.
