ABSTRACT
An attempt has been made in this investigation to develop a chemical method for treating molybdenite concentrate from Qattar (Eastern Desert, Egypt). The core of the process lies in replacement of pyrometallurgical processing with a hydrometallurgical method using oxygenated nitric acid leaching under atmospheric and oxygen pressure. The effects of temperature, acid concentration, partial pressure as well as the kinetics of leaching process were studied.
